Prepared Childbirth Classes are taught by qualified instructors. We recommend all first-time parents take this three-session series or the
full-day Saturday class during the sixth, seventh or eighth month of pregnancy. Early attendance will ensure adequate time to prepare for the birth of your baby.
The instructors will walk you through the entire childbirth process, hospital to home, introducing you and your partner to normal/standard vaginal delivery, cesarean and assisted delivery procedures. You will learn about the various phases of labor and each stage of delivery and recovery. Other topics include coping skills, basic breathing techniques and pain management options. Basic newborn care topics are also covered in this class. This class answers many of your questions about your hospital stay and includes a tour of the unit.
For those interested in a more in-depth focus with hands-on practice of relaxation techniques, we recommend the Relaxation and More!class in addition to the Prepared Childbirth series. Please register early to secure
your place. Call (260) 435-7070 to register by phone for classes. Class Code is L-06.
